Welcome to Athens

Day 1 : Athens 

Arrival at Athens airport. Meet with our assistance  and transfer to  your hotel.  Drop bags and depart for a walking tour of Monastiraki (Athens flea market) with our assistant. Return to the hotel by metro for check-in. Departure with our assistant  for a walk to a restaurant for our souvlaki dinner. Return to your hotel & overnight.

One Day Cruise (Poros – Hydra & Aegina islands)

Day 2 : Islands of Poros – Hydra & Aegina

Breakfast and departure towards the port for the one day cruise. Departure around 08.00 a.m. heading to the three beautiful islands of the Saronic Gulf (Poros, Hydra & Aegina). Lunch on board. On our way back to Marina Flisvos, a traditional Greek folk show with singers and dancers will entertain you up to the final moment as the ship arrives at Marina Flisvos. Return at 19.30 approx. and transfer to your hotel where we will have dinner and overnight.

Delphi – Temple of Apollo, Museum & Arachova Village

Day 3 : Delphi – Arachova 

Breakfast and departure for the full day Delfi tour.  Delphi was considered the centre of the world. Visit of the archaeological site and the Museum where one can see among other archeological treasures, the unique bronze statue of the Charioteer.  After visiting the sights depart for the traditional village of Arachova.  Cooking Class in Arachova & Lunch.  Return to Athens for dinner at hotel and overnight.

Athens City Tur – The Acropolis (Parthenon), Panathenaic Stadium, Temple of Zeus

Day 4: Athens

Brekafast and departure with our english professional guide  for the tour of Athens.  The striking contrast between breathtaking monuments of a glorious past and modern elegant structures is what you will enjoy during your tour of Athens.  Afternoon Community Service Project:  Your Assistant will meet you at the designated hour to depart for  a visit to a local school to meet with some of the students and perform community service by cleaning a park. Return  to your hotel for dinner  and overnight.

Dora Stratou Theater

Day 5 : Athens

Breakfast. Meet with our assistance  and Transfer to the Acropolis area where the Dora Stratou Theatre is located.  Here you will enjoy learning some of the traditional Greek Dances. Transfer back to the hotel or to the center of Athens.  Later we will depart (around 19:00), from the hotel with our assistance and we will walk to a restaurant in Plaka for dinner.  After dinner we will take the metro back to our hotel  for overnight .

Athens – Fruit & Meat Markets & Athens Flea Market (Monastiraki)

Day 6 : Athens 

Breakfast. Meet with our assistant. Today we will explore the famous Greek markets of Athens. Visit the Fruit market, the fish & meat markets of Athens and then onto Psiri where the famous nightlife is located and stroll arounbd the narrow streets of the famous Monastiraki Flea Market.  Return to your hotel to freshen up for your last night in Athens. Meet with our assistant and walk to the restaurant. Enjoy Dinner and dancing show in Plaka. For a great night of fun, music and delicious meal.  Return to your hotel & overnight.

Departure

Day 7: Athens

Breakfast and after that meet with our assistant and head towards the airport in Athens for departure.

Day 2: Heraklion – Thrapsano – Peza Breakfast.

Departure to visit Knossos and Heraklion museum in the morning.

Afternoon visit  toThrapsano village where we will visit a traditional place where they make the famous Thrapsano pottery.

We will meet people who will explain to us how they can make so big pottery  in the ancient way.

We will depart towards village Peza  – visit Peza  cooperative Agricole production olive and wine

Return to the hotel  & dinner in a restaurant near by the hotel.

Overnight.

Chania Old Town Market & MAICH
Day 3: Heraklion – Chania Breakfast.

Departure to visit the Mediterranean institute at Chania (MAICH) – visit the institute and discuss the cultivations in Crete and the works they do in the institute.  We will also discuss the irrigation system for the cultivations in Crete.

Then we will visit the agora (market) in Chania where we will find all the typical Cretan products.

Visit to a a small fishing port in Chania as well before going back to the hotel.

Dinner and overnight in Chania.

Chania Old Town, Elafonissi – Tomatoes & Monastery Panagia Chrisoskalitissa
Day 4: Chania – Elafonisssi Breakfast.

Departure to Elafonissi and visit the glass houses with the tomatoes grown via irrigation system.

We will also visit  potatoes cultivation or vegetable cultivation; one of the two available a t the time of visit.

Free time for Swimming at the beach.

On the way to the hotel visit the famous monastery Panagia Xrysoskalitissa.

Dinner in a restaurant in the old city in Chania or by the port.

Overnight in Chania.

White Mountains Jeep Safari & Mitato (Shepherd)
Day 5: Chania Breakfast.

Departure for jeep safari at the mountains where we will visit a wine factory and we will talk about the Cretan wines

Then we will visit a goat cheese production and we will taste the famous Graviera cheese.

Later we will visit a goat farm and speak about goat farming in Crete

Lunch today is included in the package and we will have lunch in a shepherds restaurant to taste the Cretan cheese and meat.

We will return to the hotel, dinner & overnight.

Retymnon & Lake Kournas
Day 6: Rethymnon – Heraklion

Breakfast.

We will depart to visit Rethymnon where we will alsovisit lake Kournas in Georgioupoli which is a natural lake.

Then  we will visit  also some orange groves and other fruit cultivation and later we will depart towards Heraklion.

& overnight in Heraklion.

Archanes Village, Cretan Dietary Regimen, Cretan Botans & Karterakis Tea
Day 7: Heraklion  Breakfast.

Departure to visit Archanes village where we will visit a traditinal olive oil press and we will have olive oil and olives tasting.

Then we will visit a winery, where we will taste some of the vines in the area.

Later we will visit one of the most well known chefs in Crete who also has a chef school,  and he will tell us all about the Cretan and Mediterranean dietary regimen.

Then we will visit Karterakis botanic shop where we can taste the famous Karteraki tea ,a product currently exported to the U.S.A. and all iver the world. We will speak about the Cretan botans which are very famous.

Return to the hotel, dinner & overnight.

Lasithi & Psychro Cave
Day 8: Heraklion – Lasithi – Heraklion Breakfast.

Visit the agricultural cooperative of Kritza in Lasithi.

Then we visit the Psychro Cave.

Departure towards the airport .

Day 3: Athens – Corinth – Mycenae – Epidaurus – Nafplion – Tolo Breakfast.

Excursion to the beautiful land of Argolida.  We will cross the Corinth canal.

Visit a factory of virgin olive oil.

Visit Mycenae, the Mycenean Acropolis & its LionGate.

We will continue our tour towards Epidaurus & its famous for its acoustics, ancient theater.

Then we will visit the picturesque Nafplion as we will go to Tolo, a village by the sea.

Overnight.

Sparta – Monemvasia Castle (Mystras) – Nafplion
Day 4: Tolo – Nafplion – Sparta – Olympia Breakfast.

Tour to Sparta passing by the picturesque city of Nafplion.

We will continue out tour towards Mystras, its Byzantine monasteries & its medieval castle.

We will move towards the ancient city of Olympia, home of the Ancient Olympic Games.

Olympia – Archaeological Site & Museum, Patras – St. Andrew Church & Castle
Day 5: Olympia – Patras Breakfast.

Visit Ancient Olympia, the ancient stadium & the Museum.

We will move towards Patras.

Rion Antirrion Bridge, Parga & Corfu
Day 6: Patras – Igoumenitsa – Corfu Breakfast.

We will cross the spectacular bridge of Rion – Antirion towards Central Greece.

We will move towards Igoumenitsa via the coastal road through the pretty seaside resort of Parga.

We will cross from Igoumenitsa to Corfu by ferry.

Overnight in Corfu.

Corfu – Pontikonisi (View from Kanoni), Liston Plaza, Old Fortress (Old Corfu Town), Palace of St. Michael & St. George
Day 7: Corfu Breakfast.

Tour to Kanoni area, which offers a panoramic view of the beautiful island of Corfu.  During your walk in the historical center of the city, you will pass in front of the old fortress, Saint Michael & Saint George Palace, Liston plaza, the city hall and the church of St. Spyridon.

Free time to enjoy the beautiful city.

Meteora – Monasteries & Kalambaka
Day 8: Corfu – Kalambaka (Meteora) Breakfast.

Crossing from Corfu to Igoumenitsa by ferry, to continue towards the region of Thessaly, where we will visit the Byzantine monasteries of Meteora.

We will continue to Kalambaka.

Overnight.

Delphi – The Temple of Apollo, The Stadium, Delphi Museum, The Ancient Theater
Day 9: Kalambaka – Delphi Breakfast.

Depart towards Central Greece in order to discover Delphi.

Visit the Archaeological site, the theater, the Temple of Apollo and Castalia Fountain.

Visit to the Museum in Delphi.

Santorini
Day 10: Delphi – Athens (Piraeus) – Santorini  Breakfast.

Departure towards Athens and in particular, the port of Piraeus, where we will board our ship to the island of Santorini.

Transfer and check-in at the hotel in Santorini.

 Day 11: Santorini Breakfast.

Today we will visit the spectacular island of Santorini with its magnificent view.

Visit to Akrotiri archaeological site, the village of Pyrgos and the village of Oia.

 Day 12: Santorini – Mykonos Breakfast.

Free Morning.

Transfer to Mykonos by ferry. Hotel check-in.

Day 2: Heraklion- MAICH (Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania) Breakfast.  Today we will visit Heraklion, the capital city of Crete. The town of Heraklion is the largest urban centre of Crete, the capital of the region of Crete and the economic centre of the island. Since the Minoan period the town of Heraklion became the host of varied cultures and civilizations whose indelible marks are visible in the form of fountains, castles, walls, palaces and other monuments.

Later we will visit the spectacular Palace of Knossos. Knossos Palace which is the most visited place of Crete and the birtplace of minoan civilization. It contains the largest of the Minoan palaces that has been partially restored. Excavated in the early 20th century by the great English archaiologist Arthur Evans.   The ruins and rebuilt parts belong to the last and largest Minoan Palace, the labyrinth of Knossos. Built 3700 years ago, is over 1000 pieces. This palace was even a health system and was decorated with impressive murals. The throne of King Minos is still intact.

Visit to Thrapsano Village, the pottery village of Crete.

Day 4: MAICH (Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania) – Elafonissi

Breakfast.

Visit to the Agricultural Cooperative of Elafonissi created in 2002.  It invloves about 20 producers, tomato production under a greenhouse. Visit their premises & the greenhouse crops.  Discuss about Water resources management in the Island of Crete.

Lunch in a tavern in a village in Elafonissi.  Visit the oldest Olive Tree in the world and in the afternoon return to MAICH (Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania).

The Prefecture of Rethymno is the heart of the island of Crete and one of the most beautiful places in Greece. It is built between the modern day capital of the island, Heraklion, and the ancient capital of Chania.  Rethymnon is the third largest city of the island and is a fascinating combination of old and new: In the old quarter, evidence of Rethymnon’s Venetian and Ottoman past is all around one.  The visitor may spend many happy hours meandering through the narrow maze of streets that seem a world apart from the hustle and bustle of modern-day life.  On the other hand, the new town provides resident and visitor alike with all the amenities and facilities one could wish for in the 21st century.
Rethymno and its villages are live postcards, which are pervaded by the aroma of Cretan cuisine and the sound of the Cretan lyre.

Travel towards the natural Lake Kournas in Georgioupolis.  Discussion about irrigation.

Mr Dimos has a farm with the most rare spices of greek animals that he saved and there we can see the famous cows of Katerini that are the same as the bulls and cows form the period of King Minos in Crete ,the mini horses from Skyros ,the small goats from Sporades and Skopelos island ,the black pigs of Ancient Greece  the horses from Thessaly as the horse of Alexander the Great Voucefalas etc .After the visit we will have lunch and will depart visit the monasteries

  • Visit Miesa, Aristotle’s school where Alexander and his companions studied and then we will visit Lefkadia the Macedonian noble tombs. They will open them for us to visit them!
  • Return to Thessaloniki for the rest of the tour visit Rotonda Galerius tomb today the church of Saint George and the church of Agia Sofia copy of Agia Sofia in Konstantinople as Thessaloniki was considered as a second Costaninople of the period. The journey will take us along the scenic coastal road from Delphi to Olympia, crossing over the Millennium Bridge, a feat of engineering built for the 2004 Olympic games
